The Alighieri Syndicate
One of the most influential gangs in Hades, the Syndicate first appeared in the 1920s. Intially starting as a coalition of multiple familys the Syndicate quickly asorbed many of the older, less organised gangs into their rigid familial hierarchy under the careful watch of their current Don (Esther Alighieri) and have maintained control of their ranks for years with this structure.
They have associates all throughout Hades, but wherever they may be, all pay tithes to the Don up on Canary Row.
Notable Members
Esther Alighieri
The current Don of the Alighieri. She lives up in Canary Row where she presents herself as a doting mother and gracious host bringing the Beyond good times and an escape from the drudgery of everyday life, but behind the scenes shes cutthroat, quick to upset and quicker still to show some tough love and discipline to those under her leaving those around her to walk on eggshells in fear of being percived as slighting her. As quickly as the Don gives, she can take away just as fast.
This however leaves her surrounded by a group of yesmen and its starting to show in her strange and ill advised orders that go unchallenged, a weakness that could be exploited by her enemys or so-called allies.
Its said that she has strong connections amongst the Ferrymen.

Vendetta
One of the Syndicate's Capo, Vendetta made his name working under his uncle Emilio up in Canary Row but following a row with him moved down to help secure some of the Syndicate's territory in Dockside.
He currently runs his operations from his apartment above The Wooden Overcoat and has proved himself to be quite the effective money maker, his aggresion though leaves something to be desired as despite pressure from his superiors to push out and expand their influence hes been wrapped up in minor swables with a chapter of the Bogeymen for sometime now. If he keeps this up he may be looking at a visit to determine what exactly is going wrong...
Calvin Barnett
A solider working under Vendetta, despite his reputation as a reckless and dangerous loose canon he seems to have worked his way into the favour of not just his captain but perhaps even the Don too.
